So while the rest of the country is having one of the worst winters ever thanks to global warming, I am over here in Malibu getting sunburned. Yes, that is correct, a sunburn in the wintertime.
Last week when I was hiking Zuma, my feet felt bad. Afterwords, I noticed that I had blisters forming under old blisters. One of the hiking guides told us about a shoe store called Future Track. What they do is let the customer walk on the treadmill and then recommend shoes based on how the person walks.
A few of us went today and I explained my situation with blisters and of course I had my hiking shoes with me. The salesman told me it was an easy fix and made adjustments to the laces of the shoes and provided me with a foam insole that is designed to keep the foot in place. I walked around and it felt great, but the real test will be on the hikes. I'll keep you posted all week.
Then, we completed our shopping experience with a trip to CVS to get sunscreen and aloe vera gel. Sundays are designed for rest, relaxation, and recovery. I spent some time in the hot tub using the new sunscreen and watched some movies on my laptop.
Next week I'll try to transition from emphasis on the hikes to talking about the classes and food. I'll include more pictures of the resort including the menu and food.
Closing through for the day: I am excited about this upcoming week. I have set my goals and will achieve them. I am armed with sunscreen, and new insoles so the blister problem should go away.
